Devin Borden Hiram Butler Gallery began exhibiting the work of Jennifer Bartlett in 1995 with the Homan-Ji series of drawings executed for her monumental commission at the National Airport in Washington, D.C.   Subsequent solo exhibitions of drawings, paintings, glass  and Bartlett’s unique grid system of metal plates attached directly to the gallery wall have followed.   Born in California in 1941, Bartlett lives in New York and has work in most major museums including MoMA which recently acquired her masterwork RhapsodyHer work is on permanent view in Houston at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church which commissioned Bartlett to do a series of colored-glass windows for their columbarium (visible from West Alabama Street).

Robert Wilson, Stalin Chairs 1973

Robert Wilson premiered Henrik Ibsen’s When We Dead Awaken in 1990 at Houston’s Alley Theatre. Later masterpieces followed, including Danton’s Death, and Houston Grand Opera productions of Parsifal and Four Saints in Three Acts.  Devin Borden Hiram Butler Gallery began working with Robert Wilson in 1992 and has hosted numerous exhibitions of his work, most recently in December 2008.wils199xdantonsdeath
